Lauren Speaking at the Military Spouse of the Year Conference

I stand up for others who cannot stand up for themselves and I don’t see a reason to candy-coat things. My personal experiences with Army housing and health issues led me to ask the 3 panelists at the 2018 AUSA Family Forum panel discussion to help me hold privatized housing companies accountable for the unacceptable conditions of on-post homes that military families are given to live in. This interaction brought on a whirlwind of investigation and change to the government’s relationship and management of privatized housing. This was the beginning of my advocacy work, but not the end. See what I am continuing to work on to improve housing and employment options for the military community.

Military Spouse Employment

I am a strong advocate for military veterans and spouses employment issues.  I am currently a board member for the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network’s “Arm-Me Up© Careers Campaign”. They provide Army Spouses with no-cost job placement assistance and career progression services. I am also a Hiring our Heroes Mentor.

Military Community

I am a board member for Military Family Advisory Network. The board is a talented group of military and veteran spouses who are leaders, change-makers, and champions for military families in their communities and across the nation. Additionally, I champion military interests on MFAN’s Military Housing Roundtable.

Military Entrepreneurs

I have a passion for helping others embarking on their own entrepreneurial journey.

I created Shop Military, a social media campaign, and website directory, in order to help other military veterans and spouses promote their businesses at no cost to them.
