I stand up for others who cannot stand up for themselves and I don’t see a reason to candy-coat things. My personal experiences with Army housing and health issues led me to ask the 3 panelists at the 2018 AUSA Family Forum panel discussion to help me hold privatized housing companies accountable for the unacceptable conditions of on-post homes that military families are given to live in. This interaction brought on a whirlwind of investigation and change to the government’s relationship and management of privatized housing. This was the beginning of my advocacy work, but not the end. See what I am continuing to work on to improve housing and employment options for the military community.
